''Cirque du So Gay'' rehearsal
|
| ....................................................................................................................................................................................... |
Take a bit of Cherry Grove history, circa 1938, the year the big hurricane hit, demolishing most structures in the community and changing the face of the Grove, and mix in soupçons of "Annie Get Your Gun," "The Wizard of Oz," "Oklahoma!" and other classics, plus plot components in keeping with this season's Arts Project of Cherry Grove (APCG) circus theme, "The Greatest Shows on Earth," and the result is "Cirque du SoGay," the APCG show due at the Community House on August 28.
The work of the creative triumvirate SallyAnn Piacentino, Sherri Rase and Lee Sharmat, aided and abetted by Music Director Dan Daly and Choreographer Brett Oberman, realized by the directors and a dozen-and-a-half other worthy thespians, including this writer, "Cirque du SoGay" will play at 7 and 10 p.m., on the 28th, and tickets, at $30 for APCG members and $35 for non-members, will next be on sale on the day of the performances, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and for an hour before each of the shows.
So, come to "Cirque du SoGay" for so gay an old time, and you'll be glad that you did.
